K-Meleon is a K-10 based fork of Mozilla/Netscape Gecko, the layout engine used by Firefox. The K-10 subsystem was developed by Bob Struble, who is also the primary author of the K-Meleon project. In addition, K-Meleon is the only known Mozilla browser to include Thunderbird and SeaMonkey as plug-ins.
K-Meleon shares Mozilla's Unicode compliance with Unicode 9.0. It includes full support for a wide range of languages in the traditional browser way. It also features a URL filter that recognizes dangerous sites and prevents you from visiting them.
K-Meleon is also known to provide an unobtrusive web security and personal privacy. It provides secure web surfing by default. It lets you save sessions, sends every unencrypted message to your e-mail address, automatically stops you from typing any password-entering data, and does not track you online with cookies. K-Meleon does not re-identify users online; rather, it allows users to enjoy the web securely by not using a third party.
The first released version of K-Meleon was based on the 4.7.1 version of Mozilla. There have been many new releases since then, and we should say that the new version (currently at v3.6) is much more stable and powerful than previous versions. This was also made possible by K-Meleon contributor and Mozilla developer Bryan D. Pitman.
Since then, there have been several major updates to K-Meleon, and we will tell you a little about them. The first was an updated version for Windows, version 1.2. In the 2.0 version, the plugin was updated. Next, version 2.1 introduced better menus, which was a significant change in the K-Meleon platform. Next, K-Meleon 2.3 added tabbed browsing and multiple windows.
After version 2.4, K-Meleon went to Windows 95/98/ME. In that version, you can run K-Meleon in high resolution (1680×1050). Later, K-Meleon 3.0 brought some significant changes, such as the Fast refresh feature and the download manager. K-Meleon 3.1 was made specifically for Windows Vista. It was the first version to offer the Trident layout engine, and this was also a major advancement in the way K-Meleon worked. Finally, K-Meleon 3.2 70238732e0 berrein
